What is the awakened mind? what is Enlightenment? and how does one know that one is enlightened? does that experience come and go? this talk by Subhana is an attempt to answer some of these questions.
Body as Experiencing Agent. This talk was given at the Mindfulness Training Course on 17/3/11. Mindfulness of the body is the first and foremost foundation of mindfulness. This talk covers why it is important to focus on the bodily nature and how to work with painful sensations from a place of stillness and compassion. The body is an ancient treasure map of information. The teachings focus on seeing into impermanence, the moment to moment changing nature of the body and how over identification with the body brings suffering and how to develop a wise and healthy relationship to the body.
Ethical context for Mindfulness This talk was given at the Mindfulness Training Course on 17/3/11 and outlines the philosophical and ethical underpinnings for mindfulness practice. Integrity and an ethical context is the compass for the direction and application of mindfulness. The 5 precepts are discussed as not as rigid rules but guiding means in how to live a life of integrity, meaning and well-being. The 5 precepts include; Refraining from; killing, stealing, lying, sexual misconduct and intoxicants and cultivating the positive values of each of these precepts respectively; respect and nurturing life, generosity, honesty, consensual non-harming sexual relations, and clarity of mind.
Guided meditation on Body Scan. This meditation was given at the Mindfulness Training Course and includes noticing sensations and moving ones awareness throughout the body, a full body scan.
